The Norweggian brig
STATSRAAD ERICHSEN, built at Carljohnsvearn, Norway, in
1858. The brig was a 2-masted vessel, square rigged on both
masts; probably the most common form of small British
merchant sailing ship until the middle of the 19th century.
The Statsraad Erichsen, a very beautiful brig, was a
Norwegian training ship. National Maritime Museum (NPA
